"I came To DAWNS house after leaving an unsafe living situation. I was living in my car, healing from a gunshot wound, using heroin, and was indifferent to my own survival. DAWNS House welcomed me with open arms. Their safety and love overwhelmed me and gave me the confidence and security I needed to make a significant life change. Each day I gain more hope for the future. I am self-sufficient and will soon reunite with my children, which is my ultimate goal. Had it not been for DAWNS house, I would not be here today."
In its 3.5 years in operation, Dawns House has supported and housed over 250 women.
This project was the catalysis for DAWNS house growth and stability.
DAWNS house was able to move hardworking volunteers into paid positions, which increased morale and hope.
This grant provided operation funds while DAWNS House focused its efforts on a Capital Campaign to purchase one of the homes.
